Early Life and Education

Growing up in Gladys, Virginia, Scott developed an early interest in technology. He earned a bachelor's degree in computer science from Lynchburg College, followed by a master's degree in the same field from Wake Forest University. Scott further pursued doctoral studies at the University of Virginia but left the program in 2003 to embark on his professional journey.

Professional Career

Scott's career began at Google, where he held various roles in search and ads engineering. Notably, he received a Google Founders' Award for his contributions. In 2007, he joined AdMob as Vice President of Engineering and Operations, playing a pivotal role in the company's growth until its acquisition by Google in 2010.

In February 2011, Scott joined LinkedIn as Senior Vice President for Engineering. During his tenure, he was instrumental in scaling LinkedIn's systems to accommodate rapid user growth, earning recognition as "the engineer who saved LinkedIn."
